This department is under Ms. Julie Porter who holds a Master of Christian Education degree from Shiloh Bible Institute and Seminary UK Campus.
She currently serves as one of the Youth Pastors for her local church – Living Hope and Grace Truth Church (Birmingham, UK).
She have served in various roles including Sunday School teacher, bible study teacher, assistant and lead youth leader, and worship team coordinator. Further still for 2 years Julie served as a Bible Seminary lecturer teaching topics including counselling, children and youth work, the book of Romans, and cults and witchcraft.Outside of Christian Education Julie has a Bachelor degree from University of Wolverhampton (UK) focusing in Languages for Business, focusing on French and Spanish.
She is also a Child Care Practitioner in an After School Club, and often takes the opportunity to teach the children she works with (5-9yrs) life skills from a Biblical perspective.
She comes to this role of SBIS Head of Christian Education with a desire for all to have a love and true understanding of the Word of God:
“How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:103-105).
SBIS Christian Education prepares students through course work in ministry, teaching, counseling, and discipleship. This liberal arts program emphasizes biblical, theological, historical, and social science foundations integrated with philosophies and practices of ministry and spiritual formation.
