Academic Dean
The Office of the Academic Dean safeguards and advances the academic integrity, Christian character and educational mission of Shiloh College.
The office provides strategic oversight for academic programs, faculty development, curriculum quality, student success, research, digital learning, institutional partnerships and regulatory compliance, informed by Dr. Mungai’s international experience across higher education, digital transformation, humanitarian development and enterprise.
Mandate and Vision
The Office of the Academic Dean exists to strengthen Shiloh College’s academic mission while remaining grounded in the College’s statement of faith and operating within applicable educational and regulatory frameworks. Its purpose is to ensure that every program, platform and partnership bearing the Shiloh College name reflects academic excellence, Christian character and practical ministry relevance.

Supporting quality instruction, effective faculty leadership and positive student outcomes.
Academic Strategy
Develops academic plans and guides program development, renewal and institutional academic direction.
Curriculum & Quality Assurance
Oversees program reviews, learning outcomes, curriculum standards and Christian worldview integration.
Faculty Affairs
Supports recruitment, orientation, mentoring, peer observation and ongoing faculty development.
Student Success
Promotes advising, pastoral care, career guidance, retention, progression and graduation readiness.
Research & Innovation
Encourages faculty-student research, academic publishing, community impact and innovation projects.
Digital Learning
Supports online, hybrid, micro-credential, learning-management and data-informed delivery systems.
Leadership Profile
- Dual PhD background, with a PhD in Humanitarian Innovation from the Roxbourg Institute of Social Entrepreneurship, Switzerland, and a PhD in Business Economics – Digital Innovation & Strategy Management from Hasselt University, Belgium.
- More than 20 years of international leadership experience spanning higher education, public health, digital transformation, humanitarian development, organizational capacity building and enterprise.
- Academic Dean at Shiloh College and Senior Adjunct Lecturer at UTAMU, with experience in academic leadership, curriculum development, student mentorship, research, faculty support and the advancement of academic quality.
- Senior digital-learning and capacity-development leader with Amref Health Africa, contributing to learning systems and capacity-building initiatives that have reached more than 90,000 health workers and learners across sub-Saharan Africa.
- Research, grant and strategic partnership leader, with published work in digital innovation and health workforce development, and experience contributing to programmes that have attracted more than USD 10 million in funding.
- Entrepreneur and humanitarian innovator committed to integrating academic excellence, technology, enterprise, social impact and spiritual grounding to develop leaders capable of responding effectively to contemporary challenges.
